Your mobile phone has a globally unique number associated with it, called the IMEI number, that uniquely identifies your device within the mobile network.

>> IMEI numberis number is unique to your hardware. If your phone gets lost or is stolen, you would need to provide this IMEI number to police / telecom operator for them to o help identify or blacklist your device from their network for data security.

>> You may need your phone IMEI number to recover a lost phone to submit it your carrier / Police.

*To find the same without your phone,

>> Sign-in to your Google Dashboard by heading to google.com/settings

>> Expand the Android tab (Devices)

>> You will find all devices that have been attached to your Google account. Find your current phone and copy the IMEI number.
