Adblock Plus, launched its new mobile browser which block ads automatically when users browse the Web on their phones.

adplus

>> It can block tracking, malware domains, banners, pop-ups and video ads - even on Facebook and YouTube

>> It may improve battery life and save on data costs because less digital content loads.

>> The new Adblock Browser is in "Beta" preview mode, and it's only available for Android devices at the moment. But an iOS version will become available in the near future.

>> Adblock doesn't block all ads. In fact, its mission is to promote non-intrusive advertising.
Rather blocks "Annoying" ads, such as pop-ups and pre-roll video ads, will always be blocked. "Acceptable" ads -- ones without animation or sound, that do not block a page's content, or are marked clearly as ads -- will be allowed, and this is the default setting for the new browser. It's configurable.

*There's also a group of ads that will always be displayed. These ads comply with Adblock Plus' criteria for acceptability, or the ad networks have paid the company to be unblocked.

Google introduces Google's Photos to collect all your photos and videos in one space. All your photos, organized, and easy to find!

gphotos

Features:

>> Free and Unlimited:
Google Photos offers free, unlimited space for all of your photos and videos. The app is currently available for Android and iOS devices, as well as on the desktop.
However, it's going to compress your files, particularly ones over 16 megapixels or 1080p, rather you can opt to pay for more storage and upload full sized files.

>> Auto monitoring to free up phone space

Google Photos has a clever feature that monitors your phone to figure out when you're about to run out of space (before it happens). Then it determines what images you've already backed up. A pop-up gives you the option to only delete duplicate photos that are saved on the phone and the cloud, freeing up more space instantly.

>> Recognizes images that you search by word
This lets you sort images based on who is in them, no matter how old they are in the photos.
Click on your kid's face to watch him grow from a baby to a teenager.
It automatically divvies images up based on place and things. Type in search terms like grass, red, cats, shoes, kiss, grandma, baby, India... and instantly see all images that match.

>> Store private by default
The majority of our photo libraries are private, filled with moments we'd never want to share with the public or friends.
Also have option to create a custom link for sharing any gallery -- face, place or search -- instantly.

>> Crafting made easy
Google Photo's smart "Assistant" feature helps create slideshows, animated GIFs and movies. It happens in a matter of seconds -- no editing skills required.

A smartphone device can act as a basic seismometer to know whether the ground is really shaking!

No need of installing any app. A built in web browser is enough to do this job.
It can be checked on almost any smartphone that have inbuilt accelerometers and gyroscopes.

siesmo

To try this,
Launch Google Chrome or the Safari browser on your mobile phone or tablet
Navigate to this page (You would see a continuously moving waveform)
Now if you slightly shake or tilt your mobile device,  simulating seismic activity, the graph will capture these movements in real-time much like a seismograph and give a graphical view.

This can be helpful to detect an real shake of the earth during earthquakes!

Facebook Messenger is introducing a new feature on that gives you bits of information about someone messaging you for the first time, whether the person is one of your Facebook friends or not.

>> The Messenger team is rolling it out to iOS and Android users in the U.S., UK, France and India over the next few weeks.

>> When someone messages you for the first time, Messenger plucks bits of information from their Facebook profile, like what their job is, which town or city they live in, and who your mutual friends are (if you have any), then displays that info above their first message, alongside their profile name and photo,...

>> And if you and the other person aren't actually friends on Facebook — then only publicly available information on your profiles is used.
